Krug Vintage Champagne is practically a manifesto, an avowal. On presenting the 1996 vintage it was thought to be the best of the century. Maturity and tartness are more or less equal, with nuances of fresh pear and candied lemon, with subtle hints of ripe fruits. A scent of honey, gingerbread and mocha arouses an effervescent crescendo of freshness which is definitively Krug.
