La Grande Annee is the best of Bollinger and gives serious competition to the bigger names such as Dom Perignon Krug and Louis Roederer Cristal. La Grande Annee is only produced when exceptional vintages occur, using grapes exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus. Immensely rich and biscuity with a mild hint of yeast on the nose. The Grand Anne incorporates many powerful flavours, toasted nuts, wild fruits and crème brulee. A rich creamy texture of energetic bubbles erupts on the tongue, which soon calms into a more delicate mousse.
